Speaking in Washington DC at a dinner hosted by the Northern Ireland Bureau for prominent US business executives, Dr Paisley said: “My colleagues and I in the Executive wish to extend our sincere thanks to not only corporate America but to the Bush administration and to Ambassador Dobriansky. They have all shown remarkable commitment to the Investment Conference and to Northern Ireland.
“I never cease to be amazed by the amount of goodwill which Northern Ireland receives in the United States and this trip has been no different. I was particularly pleased to meet the Mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg who confirmed that he would send a business delegation to Belfast. To have Mayor Bloomberg at the Conference is a great boost, and I very much look forward to showing him and others what Northern Ireland can offer.”
Dr Paisley went on to say: "This Conference will put Northern Ireland firmly on the agenda for US investors. It will be a key landmark on the road towards the establishment of a modern dynamic economy which attracts increasing numbers of overseas investors and where our young people have the jobs and the career opportunities which allow them to stay in Northern Ireland.”
