Robinson & McGuinness visit New York stock exchange
Wednesday, 3 December 2008Duncan Niederauer, Chief Executive Officer of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), welcomed First Minister Peter D. Robinson MP MLA and deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness MP MLA to the floor of the world’s most famous stock exchange today.
The Ministers were given a tour of the trading floor following a productive meeting with Mr Niederauer and his team, during which, they outlined the case for investing in Northern Ireland.
Mr Robinson said: "The NYSE has invested heavily in Northern Ireland and clearly remains committed to its highly successful Belfast operation. Their investment is a shining example of what can be achieved in Northern Ireland."
Mr McGuinness said: "The New York Stock Exchange’s presence at home sends out a clear and strong message. If the most famous stock exchange in the world can see the potential opportunities we have to offer, then others will surely follow."
