18 February 2008 - Statement from Junior Minister Ian Paisley jnr condeming rape of 14-year-old girl in Belfast

Junior Minister Ian Paisley Jnr has extended his thoughts to the 14 year old girl who was raped in the Lanyon area of Belfast at the weekend.

“This is a shocking and violent attack on a child and my thoughts are with her and her family at this deeply distressing time.

“Sickening attacks such as this have no place in our society. I would urge anyone with information about the attack to go to the police,” the Minister said.

Mr Paisley Jnr has joint responsibility for children and young people with Gerry Kelly.
