Minister welcomes Appointment of new Ilex Chief Executive

Dr Aideen McGinley, currently Permanent Secretary in the Department for Employment and Learning, has been appointed by OFMDFM and DSD Ministers as the new Chief Executive of Ilex Urban Regeneration Company.

Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness said: “This appointment will see the work of the Ilex urban regeneration company move to its next stage as we continue our efforts to build a brighter and more prosperous future for all the people of this area. I wish Dr McGinley well in the task ahead of her."

First Minister Peter Robinson said: “The appointment of Dr McGinley comes at a critical time in taking forward the regeneration efforts in the city of Londonderry in particular the redevelopment of Ebrington and Fort George. I wish her every success in the post.”

Social Development Minister Margaret Ritchie said: "Regeneration of Derry has continued apace and I welcome the appointment of Dr Aideen McGinley as the new chief executive of Ilex to ensure Derry city retains this focus. Significant future development opportunities will give Aideen rewarding challenges in this post. I am delighted to welcome someone of Aideen's calibre and commitment to this important role and I wish her every success going forward."
