11 March 2008 - Donaldson gives his stamp of approval to Royal Mail miniatures

Junior Minister Jeffrey Donaldson gave his stamp of approval today to Royal Mail’s new special stamp set featuring iconic images of Northern Ireland.

The ‘Celebrating Northern Ireland’ set comprises four stamps depicting the Giant’s Causeway, Carrickfergus Castle, Saint Patrick and the Queen’s Bridge and Thanksgiving Beacon.

Jeffrey Donaldson said: “This special stamp set promotes the incredible beauty of Northern Ireland and all of the wonderful attractions and rich cultural heritage that it offers.

“It is wonderful to see some of our well known and well loved landmarks such as the Giant’s Causeway and Carrickfergus Castle featured on the stamps, further highlighting that Northern Ireland has so much to offer visitors.

“I congratulate the Royal Mail in producing such a beautiful product which will further spread a positive image of Northern Ireland around the UK and indeed around the world.”
