The First Minister and deputy First Minister have expressed their horror and sympathy at the news of a house fire in Omagh which has claimed the lives of a young family.

The First Minister said: “Words cannot fully express our absolute shock and deepest sadness at this horrendous news and no words of comfort seem adequate.

“It is simply dreadful. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the relatives of the victims at this most distressing time.”

Deputy First Minister said: “We can only imagine the tremendous loss this is to the wider family and community.

“Our thoughts and appreciation are also with the fire crews and other emergency services who attended the blaze as well as neighbours who tried so desperately to rescue the family.”
