The meeting, held at Stormont, covered a wide range of issues including the budget, spending review, programme for government and water charges.
Describing the meeting as useful and productive Mr McGuinness said: “I very much welcome engagement with the trade union movement. NICICTU in particular have shown a strong desire to engage with government, their input into both the programme for government and the investment strategy will be valuable and welcome.
“The Executive is committed to taking on board as wide a range of views as possible in order to facilitate economic growth and social transformation.
“Representatives of my office have also met with both the CBI and NICVA to hear at first hand the views of senior representatives on the issues they feel are critical to the Executive.”
