Robinson and McGuinness brief local parties on policing and justice package

First Minister Peter Robinson and deputy First Minister Martin McGuinnness held a series of meetings today with representatives of the Alliance, UUP and SDLP to provide them with an overview of the financial proposals relating to the devolution of policing and justice.

A spokesperson for OFMDFM said that Ministers provided parties with a briefing in relation to the package being offered by Gordon Brown and stressed that the First Minister and deputy First Minister would be happy to see the proposals made public by Downing Street.

The spokesperson added that Ministers have also undertaken to provide further information and arrange further meetings with the parties concerned as necessary.
