Junior Minister Jeffrey Donaldson praised the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) today for its success in targeting underage drinking in public areas
.
Police officers have confiscated over 10,000 items of alcohol this summer in Operation SNAPPER, its largest ever initiative to tackle underage drinking in public areas.
Mr Donaldson said: “The scale of this PSNI operation will emphasise how seriously the related issues of underage drinking and anti-social behaviour are taken. I want to publicly thank all those involved in making this operation a success. We must ensure that young people are aware of the dangers of alcohol and of the importance of acting responsibly when out and about. "
