    Consultation description

Census data is used to plan public services, allocate funding, monitor equality, and support research. By taking part in the consultation, you can help ensure the census reflects the needs of Northern Ireland’s changing population.

    NISRA is particularly interested in:

    • how you used Census 2021 data
    • what topics you need included in Census 2031
    • your views on using alternative data sources to support the census

Your feedback will help ensure the census remains relevant, efficient, and valuable to users.

Further details and supporting documents are available on the NISRA website.

    We welcome your views.

The closing date for responses is Wednesday 4 February 2026.
