Commencement of a £120,000 road improvement scheme on the Old Monaghan Road, Clogher, County Tyrone

Date published: 23 February 2017

Construction works are due to start on Monday 27 February for a road improvement scheme on the B83 Old Monaghan Road between Clogher and Monaghan.

Traffic movement during resurfacing work

The proposed scheme will include localised road widening and to improve visibility for motorists.  It will also include verge widening to facilitate the erection of warning signs and a vehicle restraint system on one side of the road.

To help ensure the safety of road users and those carrying out the works, a temporary road closure for through traffic is required on the Old Monaghan Road from its junction with U1418 Old Monaghan Road to its junction with U1422 Shanco Road. This closure will last for seven weeks and will run from Monday 27 February 2017 to Friday 14 April 2017. Vehicles requiring access to lands or premises abutting the closed length of road will be accommodated.

A diversion route will be in place along the A4 through Clogher, A5 through Aughnacloy, N2 through Emyvale, R135, North Road, Dawson Street and the N54 and vice versa. Advanced warning signage for the closure will be provided.
