Mallon announces £220,000 resurfacing scheme for Loughshore Road, Fermanagh

Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon has announced a £220,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme on the A46 Loughshore Road in Fermanagh.

This scheme will begin at the junction of the A46 Loughshore Road and the Ardees Road and will extend for a length of 1500 metres towards Enniskillen.

Work will begin on Monday 27 January and is planned to be completed by Friday 7 February.

Minister Mallon said:

“I have made clear my intent to tackle the regional imbalance in infrastructure. I want any investment in road maintenance to reflect the need across our entire network. I am pleased to announce this significant investment in the Belleek area. The work will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of this section of road to the benefit of all who use it.”

The scheme will require the A46 Loughshore Road to be closed to through traffic from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm for the duration of the works.  A two-way diversion will be signposted via Brollagh Rd, Lattone Road, A4 Sligo Rd to Enniskillen.

Advanced warning signage for the traffic management operations will be provided and diversion routes will be signed as necessary.  Local access for residents and businesses, will be facilitated as far as possible, although road users may experience some delays. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

The work and traffic management arrangements have been planned to minimise any inconvenience to the public, however road users should expect some delays and allow additional time should when planning any journeys.
