£203,000 road improvement scheme for B69 Baranailt Road, near Claudy

Date published: 08 March 2023

A £203,000 resurfacing scheme on the B69 Baranailt Road, near Claudy, is due to commence on Monday 13 March 2023.

The works will start near the junction with Slaughtmanus Road and continue northeastwards for a distance of 970 metres. The works are scheduled to last for three weeks and will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of the road.

To help ensure the safety of road users and workers it will be necessary to implement a full road closure daily from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.00 am and 6.00 pm. During these times a two way diversion will be in operation via A6 Foreglen Road and B192 Drumrane Road.

Access for residents and landowners will be maintained.

Road users are asked to comply with all temporary traffic restrictions and to drive with care when travelling in the vicinity of the road works.

Whilst the Department has carefully planned these road works and associated traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public, road users should expect delays and allow additional time when planning any journey.
