£55,000 resurfacing works at A57 Ballyrobin Rd – Kilmakee NIR Crossing, Templepatrick

Date published: 24 March 2017

A £55,000 resurfacing scheme on the A57 Ballyrobin Road at Kilmakee NIR crossing is set to commence on 31 March 2017.

Resurfacing work

The scheme will involve resurfacing approximately 100 metres either side of the Kilmakee NIR crossing. The work is expected to be complete by 3 April 2017.

To facilitate the final surfacing, the main road up to the Belfast International Airport will be closed from 7.00 pm on the evening of Friday 31 March and will remain in place until 6.00 am on Monday 3 April.

Traffic in the area will be diverted using the following roads:

  • Antrim Road > Belfast Road > A26 Oldstone Road > Ballyrobin Road  (and vice versa)
  • HGV Traffic: Antrim Road > Belfast Road > A6 Belmount Road > Dublin Road > A57 Airport Road (and vice versa)

The above planned dates are subject to favourable weather conditions and the Department will keep the public informed of any change.

The Department has carefully programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public, however motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys, particularly if travelling to Belfast International Airport.
